Big Haul at Great Wall! Zipp Athletes Earn Four Medals in Olympic Time Trial.

Zipp Equipped Fabian Cancellara (Swi) captured the gold medal in today’s Olympic time trial. His time, over the 48K course was 1.02.11, achieved on a Zipp 900 Disc and a Zipp 1080 front. Gustav Erik Larsson (Swe), also on a Zipp 900 Disc but with a Zipp 808 front, got the silver medal with a time of 1.02.44.

American Kristin Armstrong was riding a Zipp 900 Disc and an 808 front, winning the women’s TT, and scorching the 23.5k course with a time of 34.51.27. Team Cervelo-Lifeforce teammate Karin Thürig (Swi), also on Zipp wheels, captured the bronze.

Congratulations to all of the Zipp equipped athletes on their Olympic performances!

Team CSC - Saxo Bank scores multiple wins in 95th Tour de France



Team CSC-Saxo Bank enjoyed its best moment as a team in Sunday’s final stage into Paris with team captain Carlos Sastre winning the overall title of the 95th Tour de France.

Sastre, 33, charged into the yellow jersey with a dramatic stage victory atop Alpe d’Huez on Wednesday and fended off challenges in Saturday’s time trial to secure his first Tour crown of his career.

Joining Sastre on the podium was Andy Schleck, who won the best young rider’s white jersey as the top-ranked rider under 25 in a contest that’s usually a harbinger of future Tour success.

The entire Team CSC-Saxo Bank squad also enjoyed a sweet moment atop the Tour podium on the Champs Élysées after winning the prestigious best team honors in an apt prize for what was without a doubt the strongest and most consistent team in the race.

CSC/Saxo Bank's Sastre Wins L'Alpe d'Huez, Moves into Lead at Tour!



The Tour de France lead stayed with Zipp equipped Team CSC/Saxo Bank after Spain's Carlos Sastre won the Alpe d'Huez stage by a margin of over two minutes. Today's win moves Carlos into the yellow leader's jersey. Teammate Andy Schleck, wearing the white jersey as the Tour's best young rider, finished third on the day. Andy's older brother Frank finished fifth, moving him into second place overall. Team CSC/Saxo Bank also leads the Tour's overall team standings.



Team Garmin-Chipotle's Christian Vande Velde finished 9th on the day, placing him solidly in the top ten overall.

Frank Schleck (Lux) took over the lead in the Tour de France today by sprinting away from the leader's group in the closing kilometer of Stage 15. Teammate Carlos Sastre (Spa) made up valuable time, pulling to within a minute of the overall lead by escaping with Bernhard Kohl (Aut).

Garmin-Chipotle rider, Christian Vende Velde (USA), stayed with the leaders but fell to 5th overall - 39 seconds off of the lead. Teammate Danny Pate (USA) finished 3rd on the day, riding in a four-man breakaway the entire day.

Kurt-Asle Arvesen Wins TdF Stage 11 in Foix



Kurt-Asle Arvesen won his first ever stage in Tour de France and Team CSC Saxo Bank's first victory in this year’s race when the Norwegian won the 167 kilometer stage 11 from LanneMezan to Foix.

Snowsill goes four in a row

Taking out her fourth major race in succession, Queensland’s Triple World Champion and Commonwealth Games Gold Medal winning Triathlete Emma Snowsill continued her blistering good form in the lead up to the Women’s Olympic Triathlon by winning the opening round of the 2008 LifeTime Fitness Triathlon Series race in Minneapolis today (US time) by a handy 2mins 32seconds.

Prior to this win the petite Snowsill has won three rounds of the ITU World Cup Series in Mooloolaba Queensland, Ishigaki in Japan and Des Moines.
