There is a reason that champions everywhere ride Zipp, and it's not just that Zipp makes the lightest and fastest wheels. What turns performance-hungry champions into Zipp believers is the superior comfort, ride quality, and control they experience on Zipp wheels. Zipp's exclusive VCLC technology delivers a 10% reduction in vibration and muscular road fatigue no matter how fast or how long you're riding. And with VCLC technology standard in every Zipp wheelset, it's not something you have to ask for - it's just another reason you'll be glad you bought a set of the best wheels in the world.

How Does it Work?

Sandwiched between layers of rigid structural carbon laminate is a viscous material that kills vibration waves. VCLC technology means that your ride just got smoother. One of the main advantages of carbon composite materials is their ability to limit vertical rim movement, lateral deflection and torsion for increased response when cornering. To damp and further control rim movement with VCLC technology, visco-elastic elements are constrained within the carbon laminate to filter out high-freqency inputs while remaining laterally stiff. Under heavy vertical load and deflection, the constrained layer's viscous properties rapidly absorb shock loads while dissipating large input energies into fractional amounts of heat, which are quickly transferred into the air stream around the rim. What this means for you is increased comfort and cornering power over rougher roads with a system that preserves your equipment and your body like nothing you've ever felt. Zipp knows what you put your body though. We understand that after six hours in the saddle every road can feel like the world's largest pothole, so we refined VCLC technology to improve ride quality and reduce vibration-induced muscular fatigue by over 10 percent. Comfort, Consistency, Control and Confidence, thanks to VCLC.
